First place to go, if you are coming back to the bible or just starting your journey, would be the book of John, in the New Testament. This book explains clearly who God is, who the Creator is, who the Savior is and how to be saved. Please ask God to reveal Himself in this book. If you do want truth, and are sincerely seeking Him, God will show up and speak to you through His Word.
Web sites that I use and are helpful:
- Blue letter bible
- E-sword
- C.A.R.M. (Christian Apologetics Research Ministries).
These sites help in the areas of study, research and knowledge of the original languages (Greek and Hebrew).
a. B.L.B. is best for studying any translation of the bible (New World Translation and the Book of Mormon are not there, due to the fact they are not considered a Christian text….I agree). This site is great for learning the details of scripture, so as to better research for context, grammar and structure. This is good for the one who wants to dig for answers.
b. E-sword is also a good tool to study and research.
c. C.A.R.M. is used to find topics of interest(s). For example you can type in a phrase (Divorce, how to be saved, what does the bible say about…. and so on). I use this one the most.
d. Believe it or not, Google is a handy tool to find bible verse topics. Just type in your search interest and usually it’ll point you to the right place in scripture.
